Dr. Louis Brad
Dr. Louis Brad is a 1986 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.  He also received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Animal Science from Southern Illinois University prior to entering veterinary school.  His career has taken him from working with dairy cattle in northern Illinois to small animal practice in Raleigh, NC, and finally to Boulder in 1991.  Louis purchased Gunbarrel Veterinary Clinic in early 1992 and things have never been the same!  He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine with special emphasis on surgery and internal medicine.  Since his completion of the veterinary acupuncture course through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 1997 he has added alternative modalities to his treatment options.

Louis decided in 2001 that the practice had outgrown the charming old farm house and started working on a new hospital.  The dream was realized in July of 2004, with the new hospital winning an award for a national veterinary hospital design competition.

In his spare time, Louis enjoys skiing, hiking, reading, and traveling.  He and his wife Candy live in the foothills of Boulder with their three cats.

Dr. Kim Smith
Dr. Kim Smith graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from The University of North Carolina-Wilmington in 1994.  Kim worked in an equine practice after graduating from veterinary school before making the switch to small animal medicine.  Prior to her move to Boulder in 1994, Kim worked in Wilmington, NC for 2 years.  Kim and her husband Adam have two dogs and a horse.  In her spare time Kim enjoys horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking and pretty much anything else outdoors!!

Dr. Judy Welcome
Dr. Judy Welcome is originally from upstate New York.  She graduated from CSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991 and has a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science as well.  Judy has worked all over the country and decided to resettle back in Colorado in 2002.  After doing some relief work for Gunbarrel Veterinary Clinic, Judy accepted a full time position in November 2004.  Judy loves seeing your pets in the exam rooms and concentrates on medicine, behavior, and training.  Judy and Jerry have two dogs, Bradley the heeler and Kira the half heeler, as well as Biko the cat.  Judy and the pups have been involved in agility in the past and loved it.  They also enjoy walking, hiking, gardening, and the Colorado sunshine.

Dr. Leslie Williams
Dr. Leslie Williams received a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Biology in 1991.  She graduated from the University of Georgia Veterinary School in 1996, and then completed a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Washington State University.  She has practiced veterinary medicine in the Longmont/Boulder area since 1997 and has been with Gunbarrel Veterinary Clinic since the winter of 2001.  She works with dogs, cats, and small mammal exotics, and most enjoys senior/geriatric medicine.  Dr. Williams lives in Longmont with her husband Andy, her two sons Josh and Ben, and her golden retriever and two cats.  In her spare time she enjoys sailing, hiking and volleyball.
